The Annual Fund
“I appreciate how ISB is transparent about how they utilize the donations. During my 13 years associated with the School, I have seen many improvements and additions, year after year, which are necessary for ISB to continue offering a 21st-century learning environment and a high-quality, world-class education from TPS to Grade 12” 2023-2024 Annual Fund Donor
Make a Gift & Make an Impact
Making a gift to the Annual Fund is the most important way your family can support the School.
Each year, ISB relies on generous financial donations from our current parents, alumni, faculty and staff, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends of ISB to support our mission. ISB’s Annual Fund provides vital supplemental funding that allows the School to invest annually in the areas of greatest need.
Annual Fund donations are used in the year they are received and impact the student experience, supporting opportunities for excellence, character, and community. Gifts to the Annual Fund support every aspect of the ISB experience, including our Global Learning Program, our renowned academic initiatives, professional development opportunities for our world-class faculty, and enhancements to our facilities.
The Annual Fund is a key component of ISB’s operating budget. Like all independent schools, colleges, and universities in the United States, ISB relies on tax-deductible gifts to the Annual Fund to achieve critical fundraising goals. As an independent, non-profit school, ISB does not receive financial support from the French or U.S. Governments.
Impact of the Annual Fund
Global Learning Program
Our Global Learning Program ensures that ISB’s trademark international education extends beyond campus. ISB offers more than 20 domestic and international travel opportunities each year, beginning with students as young as Grade 3. By the time a student reaches Upper School, traveling the globe is only a flight away. Gifts to the Annual Fund help defray the cost of students’ participation in Global Learning Program opportunities and also allow ISB to reciprocate by hosting academic exchange students and events such as the AEFE Chess Tournament and Boston Soccer Cup.
Visiting Artists & Intellectuals
ISB is able to enhance the student experience by inviting visitors to campus to share more in-depth information about specific areas of expertise. Visiting artists, authors, poets, and intellectuals are drawn to work with ISB’s students because of their multilingual abilities and global perspectives. In the most recent school year, ISB welcomed JT Turner, a renowned fight choreographer, to assist with preparations for the spring production, and distinguished astronomer and physicist Dr. Julieta Norma Fierro Gossman, who brought science to life for students of all ages.
Community Partnerships
ISB’s unique location just minutes from Cambridge, Mass., home to world-class institutions and research facilities, allows our academic program to extend far beyond our classrooms. Our Upper School has a longstanding relationship with MIT’s BioBuilder program, where students integrate biology and engineering topics through practical, hands-on lessons. In the most recent school year, students designed bioengineered algae that will be able to break down PET plastic in the ocean, addressing the problem of plastic contamination in the oceans.
International School of Boston is a 501(c)(3) organization as determined by the IRS. All gifts of cash qualify for a charitable deduction in the year of payment as allowable by law.
