Community Life at ISB
Educating Students, Engaging Families
At ISB, nearly 600 students from more than 425 families arrive on campus daily, representing various backgrounds. Whether you are a Somerville or Arlington native traveling by bike, a family in the city or suburbs using ISB’s bus transportation, or you recently relocated from France, the U.K., or anywhere around the world, ISB will soon become home.
Community is central to our identity. Families join us not only for a bilingual, international education, but also for the relationships and traditions that make ISB a place where students and parents feel known, connected, and supported.
Our community comes together across divisions and backgrounds through parent engagement, volunteer opportunities, beloved school traditions, and partnerships within Boston’s French cultural network.
Community Highlights

OneISB Parent Network
Parents play an important role in ISB’s vibrant community. Through events, parent-to-parent connections, and volunteer opportunities, OneISB helps families feel welcomed, informed, and involved throughout the school year.

Events & Traditions
ISB families take part in school-wide events that bring our community together across all divisions. From Bread Sales to the International Cup, these beloved traditions celebrate our diversity and strengthen connections among students, parents, and staff.

Boston’s French Network
ISB remains closely connected to Boston’s French cultural organizations, offering families opportunities to maintain or discover ties to the Francophone community. These partnerships enrich our bilingual environment and broaden families’ cultural experiences.
