Academic Exchange Programs
Whether a student chooses to enroll in ISB’s International or French Baccalaureate Track, Grade 10 includes the chance to travel the world by participating in an academic exchange program.
These flexible learning initiatives, which are longer than our Curriculum and Culture Trips, promote cultural immersion and align with our Portrait of a Graduate Global Citizenship pillar.
American School of Barcelona (ASB) and Lycée Gabriel Guist'hau
This formal partnership began in the fall of 2023 and is open to students studying in the International Baccalaureate Track. Students are selected through an application process and travel to Barcelona, Spain, or Nantes, France for four weeks, attending either the American School of Barcelona or the Lycée Gabriel Guist’hau. ISB then reciprocates the exchange by hosting students later in the year.
ADN/AEFE Exchange Program
The ADN/AEFE Exchange Program is unique to the French School network and offered through ISB’s membership in the Agency for French Education Abroad. This exchange opportunity is open to students studying in the French Baccalaureate Track. Students rank choices within a network of participating Lycées and are matched with their host school through an algorithm. The dates and length of the stay are flexible. Recent locations include Brazil, Spain, Argentina, and France.
