Karen Bommart

Karen heads the IR team at Battery, working to be a trusted and reliable source for the firm’s long-term investors, as well as forging relationships with new and interesting groups in the US and abroad. For the first eight years of her tenure, she led the firm’s marketing and branding efforts and provided hands-on support to its portfolio companies. She is an Executive Committee member of the NVCA’s Strategic Communications Group, a frequent panelist at PEI’s NYC IR Forum, and the organizer of a quarterly IR MeetUp in the Boston area.

Karen spent her career in high-tech marketing and PR before migrating to financial services, holding increasingly senior positions with some of the industry’s most respected communications firms. Her agency-side experience includes the position of managing director at NYPR, an independent marketing services firm based in New York City, as well as roles at FitzGerald Communications, Meridian Technology Marketing and Lois Paul & Partners (all acquired by Omnicom). Karen graduated from Tufts University.

She has been a Room Parent in the past and most recently served on the Strategic Plan “Position” Design Committee. Karen and her husband, Gilles, live in Boston, are vociferous supports of ISB sports teams, and have one daughter, Marine, in the Upper School.
