Dr. Fawzi Benzaghou

Dr. Fawzi Benzaghou is currently Senior Vice President, Global Head of Oncology, for Ipsen, a global pharmaceutical company developing treatments for cancer. He has held several global leadership roles in both Paris and Boston. Prior to Ipsen, Fawzi worked as Senior Clinical Lead in a European-based biotech for several years.
Fawzi, who is a board-certified pediatric surgeon, graduated from Université Paris Cité (France) and practiced for several years in hospitals in Paris, including Necker's Children's Hospital, before joining the pharmaceutical industry. He holds a master's degree from ESSEC Business School (Paris-Singapore). Fawzi also graduated from Harvard Business School, where as an alumnus he is actively participating in different activities at the U.S. and global levels. He is also a member of several scientific societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the European Society for Medical Oncology, and is a co-author of several publications in top-ranked journals.
Fawzi was born in Algeria and spent the second part of his life in Europe, with work experiences in Latin America and Asia, before settling in the United States. He is married with two children who both went through ISB (one of them is currently a junior in ISB’s Upper School). The family enjoys the School’s multicultural environment. Fawzi is currently serving on the School's Strategic Planning Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee.
