Welcome from the Head of School
Dear Visitors,
I am pleased to welcome you to the International School of
Boston/Ecole Internationale de Boston. Thank you for your interest.
ISB is a unique institution in the Boston area
and I hope you will take the time to learn a little more about us, both through
this website and potentially through a visit to our campuses in Cambridge and
Arlington.
ISB offers both a bilingual education that is based on the
best of the French and American academic systems and leads to the French
Baccalaureate or, alternatively, an international, English-based program
leading to the IB Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Within these two contexts, it is our aim, as our Philosophy states, “to provide
students with a positive, inclusive learning environment, in which they have
every opportunity to achieve their full potential.”
Although we began almost a half-century ago as essentially
the French school of Boston, we currently have students from over 45
nationalities. They, together with a diverse faculty, staff and parent body,
constitute a community that provides a truly international learning experience.
Our students are not only prepared to the highest academic levels, as
demonstrated by our outstanding results in both the French and IB examinations,
they also graduate eminently ready to join the global society in which they
will live in the 21st century.
If you are viewing our website as a prospective parent, I
encourage you to contact our Admissions Office to arrange for a visit. We would
look forward to welcoming you to our main campus in Cambridge or our preschool
in Arlington.
Yours sincerely,
Richard Blumenthal, Ph.D.
