Financial Aid

The International School of Boston (ISB) has a financial aid program entirely funded by the School that is separate from the assistance provided to some families by the French government: the Bourses Scolaires Françaises and the Aide à la Scolarité (click here for the brochure published by the AEFE) which is processed by the Consulate General of France in Boston.

ISB's financial aid grants are awarded by the Financial Aid Committee each year based on the documented need each family has for financial assistance. Please note: The School has limited funds for financial aid, and unfortunately cannot meet the entire need of every family.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

Students not holding French citizenship and entering grades Mid-K through 12th grade are eligible to apply for financial aid from the School.

TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services) has been selected by the School to conduct financial need assessments for families that may need assistance in paying tuition. The application process is fair and confidential. Each family who wishes to apply for aid fills out a TADS application form online (one form per family) at www.tuitionaid.com. The processing fee, payable to TADS, is $29.

TADS performs a calculation and produces a report which estimates how much the family can afford to spend on educating its children for the year. The difference between what the report says a family can afford and the cost of attending the School is called "Need". In addition to submitting a TADS application online, parents must send a copy of their W-2 forms and federal and state income tax returns (or any tax paperwork from abroad) directly to TADS. These tax documents and the report from TADS are maintained in a confidential financial aid application file. Once the file is complete (all reports and forms), the Financial Aid Committee will review all applications and decide on awards of aid for each child.
