Middle School

The Middle School years (Grades 6-8,) are a time of great transition for the students as they move from the more sheltered environment of having two core teachers in grade 5 to a place where they now have different teachers for each subject.

These specialist teachers get the students to explore new ideas, solve problems, and analyze content. They learn skills and study habits that will help them work in a more autonomous fashion in order to prepare them for Upper School. Additionally the team of Middle School teachers keeps in mind the many changes, physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively that are taking place in these young adolescents and provides support and encouragement  as they go through these years.

During the Middle School years, students have the choice to follow a program that is bilingual with a nearly fifty-fifty split or follow a program that is mostly French. In Grade 6, they also add a foreign language, either Spanish or German,  and have the option of taking Latin beginning in Grade 8.
