ISB offers comprehensive student support services to help keep our students – and their families – safe, healthy and happy.

Lunch

Students may bring a box lunch to school or sign up for ISB’s Hot Lunch Program.

Hot Lunch for the 2023-2024 school year will be provided through a new food services vendor, Rebecca’s Culinary Group. Rebecca’s has been in business for more than 30 years and is a trusted partner for many local K-12 independent schools, including BB&N and BC High. Introductory information, including sample menus, pricing information, and meal plan options, is available on the Parent Portal. 

Transportation

ISB manages two dedicated bus services:

• Route #1: Mattapan - Boston (JP/South End/Back Bay) - Charlestown - ISB
• Route #2: Newton - Waltham - Lexington - Arlington - Belmont - ISB

The bus service fee is based on the number of children participating. Bus routes and bus sizes are re-evaluated each school year, based on need.

Students aged 4 through Grade 8, residing in the City of Cambridge, may use the Cambridge Public Schools Bus. ISB also provides discounted Charlie Cards for students age 12 and older.

Health

We make every effort to provide a safe and healthy environment for all students.

• A full-time nurse is on duty on the ISB campus.
• Faculty and staff are trained in how to handle emergencies.
• Many staff members have completed the National Safety Council’s First Aid Course.
• Certain administrative personnel and teachers have CPR/AED training.
• All coaches are certified in CPR/AED and First Aid, and are required to complete certain training courses with the National Federation of State High School Associations.

School Vacation Camps (Preschool – Grade 5)

ISB offers a fun, recreational and educational camp during the following school vacations:

• October break
• February break
• April break

Camp hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Camp themes vary between seasons and years. Registration is available through the Portal, as it is solely open to current ISB students.
